Innovation Week 2022

The Nairobi Innovation Week was held on 26th to 28th April 2022. The faculty of health sciences participated and five departments were represented: Pharmacy, Surgery, Obgyn, Global Health and Medical Microbiology. 

Dr Sylvia Opanga coordinated the event for the faculty and also represented the dept of pharmacy.

Two innovations from Dept of Pharmacy were showcased

1. Dr Sylvia Opanga and Dr Esther Njeri Mburu- a diabetic patient diary

2. Dr Sylvia Opanga and Josiah Mbote- a prescription reminding device.

The innovation by Dr Sylvia Opanga and Dr Esther Mburu was rated the best (number one innovation in the staff category), after a rigorous vetting process by Safaricom PLC.
