Vice Chancellors Visit to the Department of Pharmacy

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama visited the department of Pharmacy on Monday 31st January 2022.

Hewas received by DVC Academic affairs, Prof. Julius Ogeng'o acting Dean Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Eveline Wagaigu, Acting Chairman Department of Pharmacy Dr. Shital Maru together with Thematic unit heads Dr. David Nyamu, Dr. Stanley Ndwigah and Dr. Margaret Oluka.

After the welcome speech by Ag. Chairman Dr. shital Maru introductions were done. The Vice Chancellor and the visitors heard remarks from both the academic and non academic representatives on the current working conditions and areas of concern in the department, as well as staff affairs as pertaining to laboratory space, budget allocation, procurement process, supply of teaching materials,replacement of retiring and exiting staff and payment of risk allowances to all staff.

The staff in the department promised to fully support the new restructuring of the institution which is aimed to turn around the institution to make more vibrant, relevant ans sustainable as it continues to fulfill its core mandate in the nation.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kiama  He gave some background information on the financial hurdles that the University has been going through and urged the staff members to be patient.
