The purpose of the World Pharmacists Day celebrations is to recognize and appreciate the pivotal role pharmacists play
in advancing healthcare, as well as to foster interactions between pharmacy students and practicing pharmacists. This
event offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with professionals in the field, gain insights into their future
careers, and benefit from valuable mentorship. By attending these celebrations, our students will be able to connect
with fellow pharmacy students from various universities across Kenya, exchange knowledge, and contribute to the
collective learning experience.
“Pharmacy strengthening health systems” was the theme of FIP’s World Pharmacists Day on 25 September 2023. The
theme provided opportunities to raise awareness about pharmacists as a smart solution, especially as health systems
worldwide are recovering from the COVID-19 crisis, and general consensus is that urgent action is needed for health
services to meet future needs.
In anticipation of the WPD, NUPSA joined other pharmacy students from all over the country at Kabarak University
for an Inter-university Challenge. This significant event is organized annually by the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya
(PSK) in collaboration with the Pharmacy Students’ Association of Kenya (KEPhSA).
