UON SCHOOL OF PHARMACY MARKS 50 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE WITH A GRAND 3-DAY SYMPOSIUM

The School of Pharmacy at the University of Nairobi (UoN) commemorated its golden jubilee with a landmark three-day symposium held from May 29th to 31st, 2025, at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Lecture Theatre 3.

Themed “Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence in Pharmacy Training and Practice: Transforming Healthcare, Shaping the Future,” the hybrid event drew an impressive gathering of pharmacy professionals, alumni, students, researchers, policymakers, and international partners.

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE: UON SCHOOL OF PHARMACY MARKS ITS GOLDEN JUBILEE

The University of Nairobi School of Pharmacy celebrated a historic milestone on Saturday, 26 April, 2025 as alumni, students, faculty, and distinguished guests gathered to commemorate 50 years of excellence in pharmaceutical education.

The vibrant event was part of activities lined up for celebration as the school marks 50 years of existence, honoring its enduring legacy since its inception in 1974.

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACY JOINS UNIVERSITY-WIDE TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

Staff from the Department of Pharmacy took part in the University of Nairobi’s annual tree planting exercise on Friday, 11th April 2025, at the Faculty of Agriculture, Upper Kabete Campus. 

The event, which brought together members of the wider university community, saw the planting of over 3,000 avocado and indigenous tree seedlings.

The tree planting initiative was led by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, who emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the university’s commitment to sustainable development.
