Dr Margaret Oluka was invited as a Facilitator at the International Brain Organization Research (IBRO) Symposium held  at the Institute of Primate Research ( IPR)  In Karen from Oct 30th to 4th Nov, 2022.

Also attending the Symposium from SOP was PhD student in Molecular Pharmacology Benedict Akoo and Bpharm V student Michelle Mayuba.

The theme of the Symposium was: IBRO- ARC Advanced School on Parkinsin's disease: Providing clarity for continuous Teaching and Research from an African Perspective.

On Friday October 21, 2022, Nairobi University Pharmacy Students Association (NUPSA) successfully held its inaugural white coat ceremony for Level 1 Bachelor of Pharmacy students as part of the traditional orientation and induction event at Lecture Theatre 3 - Faculty of Health Sciences. The event was attended by students, members of the teaching and support staff, administrators, faculty leadership and other invited guests from the medical/pharmaceutical field.

Dr.Niliian Mukungu a  lecturer in the department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacogy and Pharmacy Practice was on 23rd September 2022 was awarded with Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmacognosy  during the 67th graduation ceremony held in Haifa hall.

The Chairman, Department of Pharmacology , Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice led lecturers in welcoming and addressing addressing the students and officially welcomed them to the Department.

On Saturday 24th September 2022 from 8 am to 5 pm EAT, Nairobi University Pharmacy Students Association (NUPSA) and other pharmacy students' association from different universities in the country convened at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) - College of Health Sciences to participate in an educational and scientific conference to commemorate the World Pharmacists Day, an annual event organized in partnership with the Pharmacy Students Association of Kenya (KEPhSA) and sponsored by the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK).

The students in the Department of Pharmacy held a blood donation drive in collaboration with Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK). The drive was held on 29th June 2022 at the KMTC grounds

Ermias Mergia Terefe a PhD student at the University of Nairobi (UoN) Department of Pharmacology defended his thesis successfully on May 30, 2022. 

The title of his Ph.D work was "In vitro and in silico pharmacological evaluation of antiretroviral activity of Croton species".

His Supervisors were Prof. Faith A. Okalebo, Prof. Solomon Derese and  Dr. Joseph Muriuki.

Congratulations Dr. Ermias for completing your Ph.D in Molecular Pharmacology.

The Nairobi Innovation Week was held on 26th to 28th April 2022. The faculty of health sciences participated and five departments were represented: Pharmacy, Surgery, Obgyn, Global Health and Medical Microbiology.
